Metode Science Studies Journal obtains the FECYT Seal of Quality

segell de qualitat fecyt

Metode Science Studies Journal, published by the Office of the Vice-Principal for Research at the University of Valencia, has obtained the FECYT Seal of Quality in the 8th Edition of the Evaluation of the Editorial and Scientific Quality of Spanish Scientific Journals.

This seal identifies Spanish scientific publications that meet a series of internationally recognised requirements of professionalism and has become one of the main indicators of the quality of scientific journals in Spain. The FECYT Seal of Quality joins other international indicators that certify the quality of Metode SSJ, such as its inclusion in the SCOPUS and JCR databases.

For the editor-in-chief of Metode SSJ, Martí Domínguez, Professor of Journalism at the University of Valencia, this seal is “a recognition of the journal’s trajectory and quality”. According to Domínguez, this seal improves Metode SSJ‘s visibility and provides an additional incentive for authors and authors who publish their articles in the journal, as their publications in Metode SSJ will now receive greater recognition on their resumés.

Of the 243 journals that applied for the Seal of Quality, 121 have achieved this recognition. The seal must be renewed periodically, so Martí Domínguez points out that the objective now is to maintain the level of excellence and rigour required by the FECYT.

Metode Science Studies Journal

Metode Science Studies Journal started a new journey in 2013, with the implementation of a peer-review process and the creation of a scientific committee of internationally renowned experts, including, among others, Janet Browne (Harvard University), Leah Ceccarelli (University of Washington), Danniel C. Dennett (Tufts University), Dominique Brossard (University of Wisconsin-Madison), Thomas Glick (Boston University), Martin Rees (University of Cambridge), Patricia Fara (University of Cambridge), Susanna Priest (Science Communication) o Michael Ruse (Florida State University). The journal publishes essays and reviews on current scientific issues, always from the perspective of science communication and dissemination, as well as the relationship between science and society.

Metode Science Studies Journal is indexed in internationally recognised databases such as SCOPUS and JCR (ESCI), as well as ERIH PLUS, REDIB, Latindex or MIAR, among others, to which we add not the FECYT Seal of Quality.
