On Thursday 3 April at 19.30, the UIMP Valencia will host the panel «The Science of the Press: Trends and challenges for popular science journalism», during which the latest issue of the journal, under the same title, will be presented. Journalists Miquel Calvet (CIBERER) and Jaime Prats (El País) and professor of CSIC José Pío Beltrán will intervene in the act, and analyse the challenges and problems of science communication from their own point of view. The panel will be moderated by Martí Domínguez, director of the journal, and introduced by the director of UIMP Valencia, Agustín Domingo Moratalla. The panel is celebrated on the occasion of the publication of Mètode’s issue 80, conceived during a seminar in UIMP Valencia in September, where some of the questions that capture the debate about science communication were addressed; questions such as the relationship between scientists and journalists, science coverage in the media or the new communication landscape on the Internet.
