On April 30, at 7 p.m., Mètode organises a roundtable session entitled «Women and Science» on the occasion of the launch event of the journal’s latest issue, focused on the topic. Attendees to the event, which is to take place at the López Piñero Institute for the History of Medicine and Science conference room, will receive a free issue.

Josep Lluís Barona, full professor of Science History and co-ordinator of the journal’s latest issue, and professors Mònica Bolufer and Empar Aguado are to participate in this roundtable session. All three of them are giving an overview of the situation of women in science as well as in universities. Martí Domínguez, Mètode’s Editor-in-Chief is moderating the debate.

Women have been emerging in the public sphere as well as in the labour market in recent decades, consolidating their presence in universities and research centres. However, as Mètode’s latest issue points out, there is still a lot to do to achieve real equality.

With this roundtable session, and on the occasion of the Women and Science: Keys to Equality launch event, Mètode starts a new series of launch events at the López Piñero Institute for the History of Medicine and Science with the aim of debating about and reflecting on the topics dealt with in Mètode’s monographs.
