Mètode’s website, which was updated last year by the magazine, has consolidated as a popular science portal visited by more and more Internet surfers everyday. Over 35.000 users have visited the website since January, which is weekly updated with news and features. In the last months, Mètode has increased its popularity on the Net, by collaborating with Vilaweb, where Mètode has its own section. Another factor that has boosted the spreading of the journal on the Internet is the use of social networks. Around 3000 surfers follow the activity of the journal, through Mètode’s page on Facebook and its Twitter account, daily updated and used for the spreading of scientific news.

Moreover, the website has increased its interactivity, thanks to the new section «Mètode’s Whys and Wherefores», visited by more than 2000 users interested in science. In this section, Mètode encourages its readership to make queries related to science in everyday life, giving them a chance to win a subscription to our journal for a year if their question is chosen. Besides, Mètode’s users have the possibility to access for free the vast archive of the journal through the portal, where readers can re-read published features, articles and interviews in older issues of Mètode.

What is more, the adaptation of the journal to new technologies has been useful for the internationalisation of Mètode. Now, the website has readers form all over the world. Not few enter the page from countries like Mexico, Argentina, Venezuela or Peru; but also from English-speaking countries like the USA, Canada or the UK, thanks to the effort made in the translation of a great deal of Mètode’s contents published on the website into English.
