Mètode was first released in 1992 with the goal of bridging the gap between science and humanities. The popular science journal published by the University of Valencia will release its 75th issue with its next issue in Autumn 2012. In the last two decades Mètode has been consolidated as a journal of record that has helped in the communication between scientists, artists, writers and journalists with the goal of building a less compartmentalised knowledge according to the demands of our complex society.

Mètode‘s informative task and the work of Mètode‘s editor-in-chief Martí Domínguez, journalist and biologist, have been widely recognised in these twenty years. The journal has been awarded with many prizes for achieving the goal of bringing science closer to society in a both amusing and rigourous way. These prizes include the 2009 Jury’s Special Prisma award; the 2006 Popular Science Ciencia en Acción award or the 2007 APPEC award for best publication. In addition, Martí Domínguez was personally awarded in 2007 with the Premi Nacional del Periodisme (National Journalism award).
