PhD in Medicine and Surgery from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and Master in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins University (USA). He is an internist and researcher at the Internal Medicine Department of the Hospital Universitari Germans Trias i Pujol in Badalona (Spain). He is also Professor of Medicine at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
