María Piles
She works at the Image Processing Laboratory of the University of Valencia (Spain). She is a Telecommunications Engineer and holds a PhD in Signal Theory and Communications (2010), and specialises in Remote Sensing. She has extensive experience in the retrieval of water content in soils and vegetation from low frequency microwaves, and has actively participated in the scientific activities of ESA's SMOS and NASA's SMAP missions. She is currently a member of the CIMR Mission Advisory Group. Since 2015, she is president of the Spanish chapter of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society.
