Palaeontology: investigating dinosaurs

Call for papers

Natural Science Museum of Valencia

Ever since the anatomist Richard Owen coined the term dinosaur in 1841, palaeontology has continued to discover and learn more about these sauropsids that first appeared during the Triassic period and played a predominant role until their extinction in the Cretaceous. The depiction of these animals in novels, films and other popular culture products turned them into a popular icon. But what do we currently know about these animals that populated the Earth for millions of years? The goal of this monograph is to review current knowledge about dinosaurs and to take a look at outstanding questions and the evolution of palaeontology as a discipline. This monograph is open to collaborations around these and other topics related to the study of dinosaurs from the perspective of palaeontology.
